Biography

Frederic Jaron is a Postdoc in the working group of Higher Geodesy. He works on new methods of processing radio interferometric data, in particular fringe-fitting data from the VGOS network. He further investigates the radio source structure of active galactic nuclei. He explores methods to mitigate source structure effect on the geodetic analysis of VLBI sessions. He obtained his PhD in astrophysics with a thesis about the physical processes behind the radio and high-energy gamma-ray emission from a stellar binary system. He continues to explore the connection between the multi-wavelength and multi-messanger emission and the mechanisms of accretion and ejection in astrophysical systems of different scales. He has many years of work experience at the VLBI correlator of the Max-Planck-Institute for Radio Astronomy (MPIfR) in Bonn (Germany), did a Postdoc at the Institute of Geodesy and Geoinformation of the University of Bonn, and spent half a year working on a project at Onsala Space Observatory of the Chalmers University Gothenburg (Sweden).
